In order to make the courses more conveniently available to residents of various sections of the city and region, the Institute holds them at a variety of locations. The following Institutions have generously allowed the use of their facilities.
The Academy of Natural Sciences of Drexel University is located at 19th Street and the Benjamin Franklin Parkway in Center City Philadelphia. SEPTA bus 32 stops directly in front of the Academy and buses 33 and 48 have stops nearby. Please use the 19th Street entrance for access to the class. (215-299-1000; www.ansp.org)
The American Philosophical Society Museum is located at 104 South 5th Street, adjacent to Independence Hall. It is easily accessible from buses 9, 12, 21, 42 and 57 and the Market-Frankford blue line stop at 5th and Market Streets. (215-701-4421; www.apsmuseum.org)
The City Institute Branch of the Free Library of Philadelphia is located at 1905 Locust Street on the east side of Rittenhouse Square. The 2, 17, 21, 39, 42, and 90 buses all have stops nearby. (215-685-6621; www.library.phila.gov)
The Independence Branch of the Free Library of Philadelphia is located on the west side of 7th Street, below Market Street. It is easily accessible from the 21 and 42 buses on Chestnut Street and the 47 bus, which stops at 7th and Market Streets. The Market-Frankford blue line stops at 8th and Market Streets. Saint Joseph's University, Science Center is located at City Avenue and Lapsley Lane, Philadelphia. The 65 and 44 buses have stops on campus, and SEPTA Regional Rail stops at Overbook Station, less than a mile from the center of campus.
The University of Pennsylvania Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology is located at 33rd and Spruce Streets. The course entrance is at the east end of the building next to the garage.
